ITINERARY

1st Day: Once we’ve all arrived, we’ll set off on the 25-minute drive to this famous waterfall. During our journey, we’ll hop out of the vehicle at the Cerro Escalera viewpoint so you can admire breathtaking views of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. From here, we’ll set off on a 5-minute walk to the waterfall. We’ll tell the tale of a young girl who had a spell cast upon her while we walk…

You’ll then have 1 hour of free time to explore this area at your leisure and take a dip under the 131-foot (40-meter) high waterfall.

2nd Day: We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto and set off to Lamas in our minibus. The journey will take around 30 minutes. When we get to Lamas, we’ll hop off the bus and visit the Plaza de Armas. While admiring the golden sculptures we’ll discuss the fascinating history of this town, which was conquered twice. Its first settlers were fleeing from the Incas… We’ll learn more about the history of this area’s Indigenous communities and their popular festivals during our visit to the Chanka Museum.

After a 30-minute tour of the museum, we’ll walk to one of the town’s most iconic tourist attractions – Lamas Castle. We’ll explore its halls and towers, which offer incredible panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Next, we’ll visit the Wayku community of Lamas.

Return to the starting point in Tarapoto three hours after departure.

3rd Day: When we get to the village of San Antonio de Cumbaza, our adventure will begin! From here, we’ll set off on a 2-hour hike around the Huacamaillo Waterfall. As we walk, we’ll head into the lush Amazon Rainforest and splash our way across the Cumbaza River. You’ll have 2 hours of free time here to take a dip, have a picnic and take photos of this breathtaking 65-foot (20-metre) high waterfall.

4th Day: We’ll pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and set off on our day trip to Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon). Following a ride of around 1 hour and 30 minutes, our minibus will arrive at this beautiful spot. After crossing the Huallaga River, we’ll reach our destination. We’ll begin by walking along the shores of the lagoon and admiring this area’s lush vegetation. Next, we’ll spend 1 hour relaxing during a boat ride on the lagoon. The  you’ll have around 3 hours of free time to have a go at any of the water sports offered there at your leisure. During this time, you can also take a dip in the Laguna Azul, we’ll start our return journey to Tarapoto city.
